Tersus has delivered significant projects to support large-scale refurbishments at secure British Government buildings via this Global Facilities Management company since 2020. By ensuring that projects are delivered on budget and on time, with innovative solutions for delivering hazardous services in occupied buildings, Tersus has become more widely involved across the national estate.
The project team have been brilliant to work with. The planning was meticulous and delivery of the work in a live environment was exemplary. Reacting to the logistical challenges and understanding the needs of different occupants including security processes whilst also allowing for COVID reoccupation during the entire project has been outstanding. We’ll certainly look to engage them again.
Senior Project Manager, Global FM Company
Working as part of the FM’s wider project delivery team, Tersus provide turnkey solutions for hazards such as asbestos to enable compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Buildings constructed before 1999 must undergo a UKAS accredited Asbestos Refurbishment Survey before the fabric of the building is disturbed. The survey identifies asbestos in the areas where work is planned, and unless the scope of refurbishment can be changed to avoid the asbestos, it must be removed safely before the refurbishment starts.
As an inspection body accredited by UKAS to ISO 17020 and a testing laboratory accredited to ISO 17025, Tersus can scope the extent of the survey in accordance with the planned refurbishment, undertake the survey, analyse the samples and provide expert advice once the report is finalised. Where asbestos has to be removed, our CDM team can design specifications for asbestos removal, which we tender to our approved list of independent HSE licensed asbestos removal contractors.
We can procure the removal services on behalf of the client and project manage the whole process, including on-site management and UKAS accredited analytical work. This enables us to provide a comprehensive Completion Pack with Waste Consignment Notes and Certificates of Reoccupation, proving the area is safe to be reoccupied.
It’s great to see the high quality of work delivered across other areas of compliance in addition to asbestos.
