Commercial buildings are diverse in their construction and use, so planning works carefully in advance is key to the successful delivery of our services.

Working in occupied buildings

Working in occupied properties requires the specialist knowledge and skills to deliver a technical service and the ability to coordinate with key stakeholders to gain access to all relevant areas. Our team are experienced in working in hazardous and specialist environments such as plant rooms, operating theatres or underground service ducts, and as part of a CDM team on major projects. 

 

Industry-leading systems and software

We use tablets for efficient on-site data capture and automated reporting. Working to a defined specification, our reports, data and other documentation are accessible via industry-leading online customer portals. Compatible with customer databases and other 3rd party systems, we can present our data, download or import it into the desired format.

Our Social Value Champions work with our customers to develop Social Value Plans, with activities planned to deliver the themes and outcomes which are right for their community. 

We work safely, securely and responsibly as part of our journey towards Net Zero. We have implemented a Carbon Reduction Plan and our decarbonisation strategies are gaining traction, with emissions on target to reduce by 10% per annum over the next 10 years.

A national UK bank

Contract: Asbestos Management and Removal Services

Work Date: 2001 - ongoing

Summary    

For nearly 25 years, we have provided asbestos management services to a national UK bank via a well-known Facilities Management company.  The bank are the duty holders of an extensive property portfolio, which started at 2,500 locations, reducing to 1,350 assets following the transition to online banking. As their chosen asbestos consultants, it’s our responsibility to deliver a responsive and proactive national service and collaborate with the other contractors in their supply chain to ensure a safe working environment.

NHS Trust, Scotland

Value: £300k

Contract: Asbestos Management Services

Work Date: 2020 - ongoing

This NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based and acute hospital services across >100 properties, including three major hospital sites dating from the early to mid-20th century, containing a wide range of asbestos materials.

Tersus support this NHS Trust with all aspects of asbestos risk management to enable compliance with the duty to manage asbestos in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Working closely with the Estates department, Tersus assist in the risk-based classification of asbestos and the most effective programme for planned remedial works to align with risk and project programmes.

Work Date: 2012 - ongoing

This retail giant has a property portfolio combining high street stores, warehouses, delivery networks and offices. To ensure compliance with CAR 2012, CDM 2015, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and more, Tersus provide a multi-disciplinary compliance service to support new store fit-outs, refurbishments and planned compliance programmes.

A Historical University in Scotland

Value: £100-130k per annum

Contract: Asbestos Consultancy Services

Work Date: 2021 - ongoing

The University has five main campuses in the city, which include many buildings of historical and architectural significance. With over 60,000 undergraduate applications per year, it is the second-most popular University in the UK by volume of applications.

Given the construction timeframe for some of the University buildings and application of typical build materials, asbestos containing materials (ACMs) are present. As a result, compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 features prominently in the core safety management strategy for the University.

In order to fully discharge their legal ‘duty to manage asbestos’ safely, the University outsource specialist UKAS accredited technical services to Tersus across their estate via their framework.

Blue Light Organisations

Value: £100-130k per annum

Contract: Asbestos Consultancy Services

Work Date: 2021 - ongoing

Tersus supports many Blue Light organisations including the Police, the Fire Service, the Ambulance Service and the Coastguard. Contracts include the provision of asbestos management services to an English Police Force serving over 1 million people, covering a geographical area of nearly 3,000 square miles including rural and densely populated urban areas.
