Accidents that occur from poor manual handling accounts for more than a third of all accidents reported every year. As an estimate, 500,000 people in the UK suffer from a musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) that affects the upper limbs or neck that was caused by poor manual handling at work.
Because of the extensive amount of accidents that occur with poor manual handling, this 1-day course will ensure that the chance of an accident stays low. The delegates will complete this course under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, to ensure all working practices are done safely.
The overall aim of this course is to provide the delegate with an understanding of the legislations that relate to lifting objects in the workplace as well as identifying and assessing potential hazards by choosing appropriate procedures of risk control. The course also provides an in depth understanding of how to carry out manual handling activities in a safe and efficient manner. The course will cover the following:
This course has been developed for anyone whose responsibility it is to carry out Manual Handling activities on a day to day basis, as they have a legal obligation to protect their own and the rest of the workforce’s health and safety.
To undertake this course, there is no preparation needed and all successful delegates will receive a TTS Certificate which is valid for three years.
