Following the award of several prestigous contracts to the Tersus Group from housing associations in the Midlands, Tersus has moved to bigger and brighter offices.
Additional space was requried to house the huge increase in both admin. and surveying staff, plus the laboratory facilities, required to service the multi-million pound asbestos surveying contracts to providers of social housing in this area.
The British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) have recently approved Tersus Consultancy Ltd. to be a course provider for their International Module W504 - Asbestos and other fibres.
The course which is based upon the UK Module of the S301 - Asbestos and other fibres, employs a differenet examination style. Candidates are tested by completing 40 short answer questions in 100 minutes and, are required to sucessfully complete a Formative Practical Assessment looking at bulk sampling techniques and also assessing fibre concentration in the atmosphere.

November 2009 sees the HSE launch of its 'Hidden Killer' campaign. This follows the success of a similar campaign run earlier in the year derived in part by the use of of radio segments which relate real life stories of tradesmen that have been affected by exposure to asbestos.
Supported by leaflets and guidance the campagn hopes to bring to a halt the still rising number of deaths within the UK due to expsoure to asbestos within buidlings.
TERSUS delivers UKATA regsitered Asbestos Awareness Training courses countrywide to tradesman, supervisors and managers alike. The course is designed to raise the understanding of the use and of the threat possed by asbestos in buildings and thus to help protect building occupants and workers.
